ONLINE PRAYER MEETING & BIBLE STUDY

Along with our brothers and sisters all around the world, we are now coming to terms with the “new normal” brought about by the covid-19 pandemic.  Following CDC and Health Department guidelines we are cancelling all live events until further notice. We are exploring other avenues to minister to our members and community. We are posting our services and updates on our Facebook page and YouTube channel, we are also conducting Zoom Prayer Meetings on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 pm and Zoom Bible Study at 9:30 am on Sunday mornings. The instructions for participating in our Wednesday evening prayer time are included with our Prayer Matters email. and the instructions for Sunday morning Bible Study are included in the Online Bible Study email. If you would like to receive our emails just use the write to us block below and enter your name and email address and notate that you would like to be added to the mailing list. It is our hope that everyone stays safe and healthy during these trying times. Please check back often for updated information.

Beginning Sunday, March 22, we started broadcasting South Venice Baptist Church’s worship service on Facebook. Since the Governor just issued a Stay at Home order for all non-essential workers and businesses, we will not be able to broadcast our worship live from the sanctuary on Sundays for the rest of the month. I will be recording video of Scriptures and sermons, and we will add music and post it at the regular time on Sunday mornings. It will be on at the usual 10:45 a.m. time. The Praise Team and Pastor will lead an abbreviated service of scriptures, prayers, music and sermon. A bulletin will be emailed to you Saturday, so you can have your Bible close by and follow along with the service, just as you normally do.

If you are on Facebook, make sure you go the church’s page and click on the ‘Like’ or ‘Follow’ button. Then you will receive notices any time there is a post on the page, or when we go live.
If you are not on Facebook, this is a good time to sign up. It’s easy, and free. (And if you’re not sure how to do that, do what I do and ask a younger person – like your kids or grandkids!) We have also created a Youtube channel and are uploading the service there as well. I know, we have all heard stories about the abuse of social media. But this is a time that it can be a blessing to you and to our church, and this method will allow us to be together, even when we are apart.
