Allan L. Mitchell, Pastor pastorallan@svbaptist.org
Pastor Allan has been the pastor of SVBC for three years. Before coming to SVBC he served churches in Virginia for thirty years. His last church in Virginia was Cambridge Baptist Church of Richmond, where he gave pastoral leadership for over twenty years. He has also served as a campus minister with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship at Mary Washington College, University of Richmond, and Virginia Commonwealth University. Pastor Allan is a graduate of Old Dominion University, where he studied psychology. He attended Southwestern Baptist Theological and graduated from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity degree. He also received a certificate in patient counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Pastor Allan is married to the finest pastor's spouse ever, Ann Peele Mitchell! She leads our Women's Ministry, including our very popular Beth Moore Bible Studies. They have been married for forty years. They have two grown married children, who live in the Washington, DC area.
Pastor Allan loves to preach and teach the Bible. One of his favorite events that takes place at SVBC is the men's Bible study on Monday nights. Pastor Allan has a strong commitment to missions and is thankful that his church is missional through and through. He has been on mission trips to Jamaica, Panama, Brazil, Honduras, and Austria. Both Pastor Allan and Ann see their life and ministry in South Sarasota County as a mission opportunity to bring God's Good News to this beautiful area. He loves the church family of SVBC and is thankful for the opportunity to lead such a wonderful congregation.
In his spare time, Pastor Allan enjoys photography, riding his bike, playing his uke, and going to the beach with Ann.
